Came across Fluida while preparing for an ethno party that was playing in Europe as part of my Summer Tour. I randomly came across a Fluida track and it stood out from the crowd as seemed to be more than just the usual programming and sampled track. The sound was richer and only later I realized that these tracks had the hang drum which was performed live and than layered. Besides the Hang sound, the other sounds were in perfect balance and the overall production was spot on. Most of the Fluida tracks were fitting in perfectly with the ethno folder that I was preparing! The tracks had a mysterious and emotional layer on top of the grooves, and that too without being cheesy and super melodic. In my opinion, it’s not easy to get melodic music right. This requires a really high level of taste but in the case of Fluida, the listener will be pleasantly surprised! Very pleased to have found their music and really recommend it strongly! Any deep/ethno/melodic music fans will love this sound!
My Favorites from Fluida
Live set from Fluida
Traversing between headphone listening and euphoric dance floor journeys, Fluida’s music manages to be both club friendly and intimate. The result is a breadth of sound that connects deeply with people both in the early evening and at those special moments in the early hours of the morning.
Following several multicolored ‘Spiral’ releases on Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried Records, the pair quickly garnered diverse support from DJ’s such as Joris Voorn, Sasha, Roger Sanchez, Matthias Meyer, Lee Burridge, Tiesto, Audiofly, Kölsch and Pete Tong.
Further releases have come via Anjunadeep, Get Physical, Kindisch, Supernature, Flying Circus and Do Not Sit On The Furniture, alongside a series of vinyl-only cuts on the duo’s own imprint. Fluida’s unique live/DJ set continues to set them apart, incorporating the steel pan ‘hang drum’ featured on many of their tracks. This live instrument in the DJ booth offers unique energy and an immediate connection with the audience.
The pair regularly share their eclectic tastes through radio slots on Bloop London and Ibiza Sonica.
